1. Consultation and Review of Clinical History
Patient with oral/facial pain and headache will be provided with a pain related questionaire that can be emailed or mailed to us prior to your first appointment. This questionnaire can be downloaded from our website by clicking on “our office” tab and acroll down to “forms”. If you have not completed this at home, please come 1/2 hour prior to your scheduled visit in order to fill in this questionnaire. Dr. Epstein will review this with you during your visit.
2. Oral Examination
The oral examination component of the visit may include the following investigative/diagnostic procedures:
- Tissue Staining and Sampling
- Biopsy to send for pathology
- Laboratory Testing (Bacterial and Viral cultures, Salivary testing, ordering of Blood tests)
- Radiographic Imaging (Bone scan, Magnetic Resonance Imaging – MRI, CT scan, Ultrasound, Salivary Uptake scan)
- Unstimulated and Stimulated Salivary Flows
- Taste and Smell testing – Sensory testing
